about me
Hello there. Welcome to my little corner of the internet. As you might have gathered, I go by the name Fabaulti in fandom spaces but my friends call me Andy (they/them but he/him works too). I'm 23 and my zodiac sign is Gemeni.
I've been writing fanfiction since I was eleven and really into Naruto and some other anime I secretly watched way past my bed time. However, I joined the fandom as we know it today around 2015 when I got into the MCU. I've been a Thor/Loki shipper since then.
What made me want to stay in fandom spaces and create my own content was the sense of belonging that it brought me. Fandom has always been a space for the "weirdos" out there, for the people who don't exactly fit in the very narrow normal imposed by western society but want to create, consume, and interact with the media they love, even though said media is more often than not tailored for the average, non-weirdo viewer. Fandom is becoming more and more mainstream, yes, but the overwhelming majority of those participating in fandom spaces are still the outcasts. I suppose participating in fandom activities on its own is fun, regardless of how well you fit with societal standards, but this interaction has a lot of weight for the people who don't really fit it. It's a place of community and (more often than not, a space where you can create and explore your identity freely.
I am more or less active on most relevant fandom spaces, but I'm not a big fan of social media and how it works. Dreamwidth is one of my favorite fannish communities. I use my dreamwidth journal to post meta, thoughts on the latest media I consumed and updates regarding my fanworks. Everything I post there is crossposted on livejournal (which I check once in a blue moon). On the hellsite known as tumblr I post gifs and edits of whatever hyerfixation I have at the moment. I try to crosspost them on pillowfort too, but getting gifs on there is a nightmare, so it doesn't always work. On twitter I mostly lurk and post really dumb headcannons and thoughts from time to time. I also retweet pretty art (it seems that most artists have migrated to twitter).
A lot of fannish activity has also moved to discord and while I do try to keep up with the changing times and be active in a few servers of interest, I am not social enough to be constant about it.
I'm the kind of person who hyperfixates on things for short periods of time. I join a fandom, obsess over it for a few months then completely lose my interest and disappear. Sometimes my interest is rekindled, sometimes it isn't; it depends on the circumstances. I used to be quite harsh with myself because of the way I function and I thought something was wrong with me for not being able to keep my focus on one thing and maintain my interest. Now I've come to peace with it. It's just the way I am.
If you would like to be friends don't hesitate to reach out to me. However, I kindly ask you not to do so if you are a minor or a person that holds misogynistic, racist or anti-lgbt points of view. I'm usually quite shy and taking initative is not very easy for me, so I greatly appreciate when people start conversations and I'm very happy to have them. Feel free to say grab my discord from below or send me an e-mail to say hi!

on shipping
I'm what some might call a proshipper, or a problematic shipper (depending on what your stance on the subject is.) I do ship some couples that might be seen as unhealthy or problematic because I enjoy what their dynamic brings narrative wise. While I do agree that fiction affects reality to some extend, I do not approve of censorship or policing anyone's interests. My reasons for shipping certain couples are my own and I shouldn't have to explain myself to anyone. Likewise, my reason for avoiding certain ships are not anyone's concern. Ship and let ship, but do take care of your mental well being and block any content that you might find harmful to you without being an ass to the folks that create or consume said content.
Regarding my ships, as stated previously I'm a rather passionate Thor/Loki shipper (MCU). Lately I've been writing Inuyasha/Sesshomaru fanfiction and I'm definitely boarding the Griffith/Guts train. I did dabble in some RPF back in my Led Zeppelin fannish days, although I must admit I did not ship the people themselves, but rather their personnas. I don't know if that makes a great deal of sense as my own thoughts about real person shipping and RPF are a bit unclear.
